Welcome to RealTapestry.com.  We are by far the largest direct retailer of wall tapestries in the USA. We strive to offer you the Highest Quality Products at the Best Price..... Always.  Listed below is some important  information about RealTapestry.com and buying tapestries in general.  Please take time to browse the information below.  We are certain that should you be interested in purchasing a tapestry, you will find this information extremely valuable and helpful.

HOW ARE TAPESTRIES PRICED?
The price of a tapestry depends on how many hands it passed through before you buy it.  The traditional tapestry business model, before RealTapestry.com, was as follows: Manufacturer to Exporter to Distributor to Showroom to your wall. All levels marking up the product for profit.  The price you pay can also be affected by how much overhead expenses a company may have or how many employees they must pay to work in their showrooms.  As you can see, these factors often makes the price of a tapestry quite expensive with other companies. Our huge tapestry purchasing volume allows us to negotiate exceptional pricing with direct Exporters and Manufacturers throughout the world to bring you the best tapestries at the best value anywhere. We directly import and receive all of our tapestries... then we ship them promptly to you.  This eliminates all of the unnecessary mark up and ensures that your tapestry reaches you as fast and at the best price as possible.

I saw the same picture on another site. Is it the same tapestry?
If a tapestry's picture and dimensions are identical, then it is the SAME tapestry. Some tapestry websites try to convince you that their tapestries are "superior" or to their "exclusive specifications".  We ask that you not believe this hype from these deceptive retailers.  Because of international copyright laws, most tapestry designs can only be woven by the manufacturer that created the design.  Many weeks of work go into the design and manufacturing preparation of a tapestry.  The subject matter may be woven by different weavers but there will be some differences in the tapestry.  For example, the border may be different or the design will have some distinct variations.  Our tapestries are only from the highest quality weavers.  We back our words by giving you our 30 Day 100% Money Back Guarantee to ensure you love your tapestries from RealTapestry.

Jacquard, Hand Woven, Artwork Sublimation. What is that all about?
Jacquard Tapestries -
Tapestries were originally woven by hand, by commission from royalty. In today's world most reproduction of ancient tapestries are done using a Jacquard loom. Invented by Joseph Marie Jacquard, it allowed a single operator to weave intricate patterns. Today's Jacquard looms are computer operated and can produce truly stunning results in limited time. Jacquard woven tapestries are a great way to own classic designs without spending a lot of money.

Hand woven tapestries - Although the original European weaving "ateliers" ( Gobelins, Beauvais, Aubusson, etc.) are almost all been converted into museums, there are now new sources for hand woven tapestries. China is the country that produces the most hand woven pieces. The biggest reason for this is labor cost, as it takes several weeks for a two person team to weave a single hand woven tapestry. These tapestries are more expensive than the machine (Jacquard) woven tapestries but they are truly masterpieces of craftsmanship that will be kept in families for generations to come.  Northern Africa, Spain, France, and Italy all produce fine quality hand woven tapestries. Although RealTapestry can get hand woven tapestries from many sources, we choose our hand woven tapestries based on price, quality, and value.  Should you wish to purchase a Certified Aubusson hand woven tapestry woven in Aubusson, France... no problem, we can get it!  RealTapestry has weavers throughout the world for all kinds of tapestries: custom designs, limited editions, antique reproductions, modern, etc.  If we can't get a tapestry for you at the best value, then it most likely is not woven.

Artwork Sublimation Tapestries - Capturing on a tapestry the fine detail and subtle color gradient that exists in the masterwork paintings and frescos from Europe has always been difficult.  New from Belgium and offered by RealTapestry, comes this highly detailed sublimation method of reproducing artwork on tapestry.  Because of the fine detail in the finish, these tapestries look gorgeous in very large sizes.  Not even hand woven tapestries can compare to these fine sublimation tapestries when you are recreating the artwork from masters such as Botticelli, Michelangelo, Rembrandt, Van Gogh, Picasso and many others.
