For your
tapestry, you can use the following methods to get
a nice flat finish to the tapestry and to hang it
properly.
First,
place the tapestry flat on a floor (Carpet or
Tile) face up. Cover the face with a white
cloth or sheet, iron the tapestry using a
medium heat setting with steam paying attention to
the edges. This will not harm the tapestry
as long as the heat is not too extreme and YOU DO
NOT IRON DIRECTLY ON THE TAPESTRY FACE. This
will take about 15 minutes but will remove all the
wrinkles from shipping and will give the tapestry
a nice appearance. LET THE TAPESTRY COOL DOWN
AND/OR DRY BEFORE HANDLING.
To hang this
tapestry, just measure the width of the tapestry.
Add 2 inches to the width you measured. This is
the distance between your two outermost mounting
brackets. Attach the two mounting brackets
using
wall anchors or screws (as appropriate for your
wall type). Most important is to be sure that
these two mounting brackets are level, so that the
tapestry will hang evenly and straight. Next,
slide the sections of the rod together (extra
large tapestries will have a 3rd
extension rod piece). Insert the rod through the
tapestry rod sleeve along the top back edge of
your tapestry. Extend the rod to the correct
length. Hang the tapestry on the two mounting
brackets evenly. Attach the two finials to the
rod. Very large tapestries may require the use of
a simple hook attached to the wall in the middle
of the rod to remove any sag that may occur from
the large tapestry width.
